backstory
- i had this elaborate plan for the concert that includes checking into a nearby hotel even though i live 40~ minutes from the venue for reasons i will not disclose here, but it turned out to be good actually because it gave me plenty of time to get ready and also i didn't have to rush to leave after it ended.
- the concert started at 6 and originally i planned to be there at 5-ish but then i changed my mind because anxiety kicked in and got there at 4.30. again it turned out to be a good decision because as soon as i registered i was told by one of the crews that i better go get into the queue now since apparently there was a cut off time at 4.45. there were a lot of people who arrived after 5 though so idk how the cut off time works lol. but since i got into the queue right away i didn't have time to look around at the fan events. weirdly there was no sign of official merch booth so i'm not sure if there was supposed to be one, but i saw some men who obviously aren't fans but were selling fanmade merch lol. i ended up buying a t-shirt that's a carbon copy of the official t-shirt after the concert for keepsake (i can't afford the official one i'm so sorry csy)
- the "queue" was actually all of us sitting on the floor according to our ticket number (i got the moodz zone). since i went alone i just sat there with my phone for about 40 minutes until it was time to go in. then when it was time the girl behind me noticed that i wasn't wearing this special wrist band that indicates winners of the goodbye session event (which i was). then the girl in front of me (also alone in the queue but has a friend in another zone) overheard and told me i was supposed to tell the crews during the registration. i quickly ran back to the registration counter after letting a crew who was handling the queue know and then he let me run back to my spot. pretty sure the others thought i was a bitch who didn't know how to queue because they already started to move to get into the hall lol but the girls were genuinely happy for me when i got back.
- we only found out that our zone was free standing after we got in (i suspected but we had ticket numbers so i thought we'd be placed according to our number), so we kind of panicked when we saw that the front rows were already filled. luckily i saw a good spot on the other side of the hall, so i told the girls and we went there together. we found out afterwards that the front rows were for the vip tickets, but our spot was still pretty good but we were right behind the barricade that separated our zones so we could lean on it from time to time.



setlist
- i knew very little about the setlist and didn't watch any fancams (except for drowning) on purpose because i wanted to be surprised. but i ended looking it up the day before the concert just so that i would know when to be prepared to record my favourite songs. then i found out only two of them were in the setlist and i briefly had a mental breakdown.

- BUSTED: the concert started with his voice over the speakers as the opening vcr started playing. i was really focused on the screen and wondered if it was going to split in the middle for his entrance because i doubted the place was capable of that lol. turned out i was right and he came out from the left side of the stage (from my angle) and i didn't notice until people started screaming. but starting with this song is soooo good because 1) he appeared right when the music fully kicked in so the AR switched to his live singing, 2) he came with a live band so when amplified with the sound system it adds everything to the song, 3) it gave all the right energy and hype. it's funny though because he sang it so calmly while we were so hyped.

- HIJACK: when this song began i realized the funniest thing ever - i listen to his songs on shuffle all the time while i prepare at work and that means i know all his songs but not which song. even though i was able to sing along it took me until the chorus to know which song this was sjdfhjd. the dancers came in during this song and it was soooo good

- LOVE ME HARDER: i was so excited to hear the whistle from the opening because this song is what turned me into his fan T___T i love the choreography for this song so so much i watched every single stage during the promotion period, so i was disappointed that he didn't dance to it even though the dancers were lol but he started doing the choreo during the second chorus!!!!! i honestly dislike gun as a concept/prop in kpop but i love the clicking of gun and shooting in this choreography because it's done at the right times which actually elevates the choreo. it was a dream to do it in real life with him like how i used to do it while watching his stages.

- MENT: he sounds so lovely in person T____T i really do love how gentle his voice tone is and the fact that he is naturally a soft spoken person adds so much to his attractiveness. he started the ment by introducing himself and a "apa khabar sayang?" (how are you, sweetheart?) pffftt. then he revealed that his throat wasn't in a good condition so he apologized in advance and promised to give a much better performance to make up for it. i honestly can't remember what else he said because i was so mesmerized by his voice lmao but it was pretty a typical an opening concert ment.

- WAITING & CHASER: i feel bad that i don't remember much about these songs because they're not my favourites (even though i did love waiting when it first came out) but they were still a lot of fun because he was starting to let loose and enjoy the concert for real. waiting's last chorus was especially fun!! particularly when we screamed out "CRY" with him. also i remember this one part during chaser clearly when he came over to the right side of the stage (which gave me a better view of him) and did a lot of heart signs.

- WHO KNOWS: there was a vcr playing between chaser and this song, and he went in to get changed in the meantime. his entrance mirrored his first one because it started with guitar playing and his voice playing over the speakers, then he appeared in this snoopy(?) themed denim jacket, jeans and very cool very csy sunglasses. it was a simple outfit tbh but i think his vibes and the song made it look super sxc

- DIRT ON THE LEATHER: i would like to thank this song for paving the way for rock star csy because rock star csy is everything!!!!!!! the crowd was already hyped during who knows but this song changed the game for real. the band and him went all out despite him being sick and so did all of us

- TRIGGER: the funny thing about this song is, just like hijack, i couldn't remember which song this was until the word trigger was emblazoned on the screen during the chorus jsdjfgsjd. the crowd got extremely HYPED during the last part of the song, and after it ended and the band went dead silent he came up to the edge of the stage and said he was disappointed that we weren't as loud as he hoped, then he asked "one more time?". of course we screamed yes, so the music kicked in again and he did another round of the final part. it was already dragged out to be longer the first time and dragged out again the second time, and everyone got so so so hyped that we all chanted "one more time?" and "encore" after it ended that he actually got flabbergasted, but then he started laughing and agreed to do it again and IT WAS FUNNY BECAUSE HE WAS VISIBLY TIRED LMAO and the girl who queued with me said while laughing "poor guy and he's already sick" jsdhfskfs

- SHORT MENT 2 + SPECIAL SONGS : ok i can't remember what he talked about here but i think he said he was surprised by how everyone sang along so well. when he wanted to introduce the next song he said "i won't tell you the title of the next song but i'm sure you guys know what song it is" narrator voice she didn't know what song it was. it turned out to be hype boy lmaoooo i actually kind of forgot he did a cover even though i saw this song in the setlist. he only walked around the stage when he sang this, but after it was over he shyly did the choreo without any music, and that led us to chant "encore". again he was really flabbergasted lol and we were too loud for him to say no, so he started over from the chorus after saying "i didn't expect to do it for a second time". csy you are my hype boy T__T ok story time before concert began i overheard some fans talking about the jakarta show and how he sang an indonesian song there so he might do the same here, and i panicked because i'm a terrible person who doesn't know local songs. my fears actually came true because he did sing a malay song and i had no idea what song it was or the original singer. i even had to badly described it to my friend afterwards and she couldn't figure out from my description jksdhjsdgf

- SHORT MENT 3: he said "let's take a short break so i can read the words you prepared for me" and he went around to read all the custom placards he could see. the first one he saw happened to be a fan telling him she was getting married and he was so visibly happy about that. there were a few funny ones. he also saw one that said it was the fan's birthday so he actually sang a happy birthday song for her u____u then he saw a placard asking him to sing accident and he was like "accident? how does it go again?" UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!! omg he actually didn't remember the song at all sfjsdhsjdh he actually stood there for a while and tried to recall it but couldn't... after a while he asked us to sing one part of the song for him (but of course it got chaotic) it took him so long to get it and finally he said "oh i think i remember the last chorus" and started singing. BUT THE LYRICS WERE WRONG. I KNOW BECAUSE THAT'S MY FAVOURITE SONG!!!! after all the praises i gave him for the lyrics........ unbelievable..............

- MULTIPLY: multiply is probably his sweetest song ever and he really did sound amazingly sweet for this song. his falsettos were crazy!! i melted right from the first line it was so unreal T____T ♡♡♡ (i forgive him a little for forgetting accident) he went around the stage waving and returning hearts while singing, and the lyrics were on the screen the whole time (i think because they're in english) so the crowd sang along with him. not me though i was busy falling in l*ve with him.

- ABYSS: he made a short speech before this song started and talked about how he wrote it when he was feeling sad. if i remember correctly he said something like there might come a day when that feeling returns, but right now he's filled with happiness that he's received from the fans. also love that after he said this one guy who stood pretty close to me shouted saranghae on the top of his lungs. abyss was so lovely and beautiful in its sadness.

- VCR + DEEP DEEP SLEEP: he went in again to get changed during this vcr but i honestly wasn't paying attention to it because i knew my favourite section of the setlist was coming...

- KISS OF FIRE: KISS OF FIRE WAS INSANE...... i knew it was going to be insane but since i didn't watch fancams i didn't know what to expect, but it was so crazy sxc!!! he appeared in this red sleeveless t-shirt and leather pants, and he started the song very calmly actually. then the dancers came out and the music paused for a bit right before the chorus, and the drop was so amazing. he also did an almost full choreo for this song. i think the combination of the choreo + the live band + the energy of this song + his outfit made everything so phenomenal. also not to objectify women but his female dancers were so hot!!!

- FEEL LIKE: i knew feel like was going to be the sxciest performance so i prepared myself.... or so i thought!!! for real i apologize to everyone around me who was filming because i screamed so loud so many times but especially after it ended. i bet my life on you csy!!!!! thank you csy for allowing me to destress (but also gave me so much stress)

- ON MY OWN: after feel like ended he cheekily said let's change the mood a little^^ the audacity!!! on my own is my favourite song from the second mini and the live stage was so much fun!!! csy was cute for what

- SOUR CANDY: i was so excited when sour candy started playing because it's my favourite from the OLL mini T__T♡ they have a choreography for this song which was really cute and fun but csy did it loosely lol. at one point of the song during the choreo he flirted with one of the male dancers (which seems to be the youngest out of all the dancers, and he's really super cute with a curly afro-like hair!!!)

- BUMP BUMP: first of all i would like to apologize to bump bump because i love the song a lot but i wasn't able to fully concentrate on it because i knew what was coming afterwards. BUT!!! i was still able to recover in time to enjoy and sing along to the chorus. bump bump is such a cute fun song after all T____T

- DROWNING: as soon as bump bump ended i immediately whispered at the other girl "it's drowning time!!!!!" like us everyone got so so so excited because we knew it was going to be epic, but we were also worried about his condition TTTTT before he started the song he even said "i might die but i'll try my best" jsdhjsd but he sounded soooooo amazing!! he did so well with all the insane high notes and really pushed himself for the last chorus....... i was almost in tears!! for real the best thing about purchasing the ticket before the newest mini was released is listening to the new mini and realizing i was going to listen to this song live. i have no words to describe how life changing experience drowning in person with the live band i'd never trade it with anything!!! T____T ♡

- JOURNEY: i don't know how to explain it but despite the difference in genres, going from drowning to journey felt so cathartic in a way. i know he bet everything on journey when he decided to release it as the title track because of how much the lyrics mean to him, and i really could feel it when he sang it that night :((

- VCR + THANKS TO: he said goodbye after journey and went in but we all know there would be an encore who was he trying to fool? lol

- I HATE YOU: i reaaally really love i hate you i think it's my favourite title track after love me harder TT♡ idk how to explain it really but the lyrics hit hard for me especially the last chorus (goodbye my love / i can live well even without you (no way, please don't go) / even so, i really loved you a lot) i love it when singers change the lyrics of the final chorus to be the continuation or opposite of the first chorus (also why accident is my favourite).

- BETTER AND BETTER: i always forget how much i love better and better until i listen to it tbh. i know it's a fans song but the lyrics are so sweet (your love is the sun, it wakes me up / my cold heart is coloured by you)......  unfortunately during this song i was totally no thoughts head empty hope to be like you is next

- READY TO FIGHT: sorry but my first reaction when this song started was BUT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE HOPE TO BE LIKE YOU NEXT???????????? i went through a million different emotions during the first ten seconds of this song alone, but as per my text to lisa dated 230503 i was really looking forward to experiencing this song live. csy actually stands for the word crasy!!!!!!!!!!!! all his smooth high notes on top of his flirty smirks!!!!!!!!!! the final part was sooooooo amazing just as i had hoped and expected, but you know what's the most unbelievable thing he did?????? right after the last part he grabbed his water bottle, poured the water over his head, and then just walked away. AND HE NEVER RETURNED. THE CONCERT ENDED JUST LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (fancam for reference)



thoughts
- i will never forgive him for all his crimes: 1) forgetting accident completely, 2) removing hope to be like you from the setlist (though after further investigation apparently he followed his seoul day 2 setlist instead of day 1), 3) the exit!!!!!! at least for me i won the goodbye session so i got to see him again.
- also speaking of goodbye session i wasn't sure what that was actually. my friend said it might be something like a high five session, which made sense and turned out to be true. so the winners of this goodbye session had to remain in the hall after the concert ended and we waited for around half an hour. then the crews had us stand in lines and we started walking out of the hall like that in confusion sjhdjsh also we were told to not hold our phones because filming wasn't allowed for this goodbye session. turns out csy was standing right outside the doors behind a table and several guards around him waving at us as we were leaving jhsdjhjsdfgs????? i was so shocked because i didn't expect him to be there (i expected more walking) so i couldn't say what i had been practicing to say, but ended up blurting out an extremely high tensioned "HI!" and waved at him. at least he smiled and waved back T_______T
- i've been complaining to my friends that besides drowning he didn't sing any of my favourite songs lol but looking back now he did sing some of my favourites (sour candy, on my own). also it's understandable actually why some of those songs were excluded (because they have features)
- i still can't forgive him for hope to be like you it's literally my 2021 top song!!!!!!!!!
- honestly i wondered if i spent too much on the ticket because i just wanted to experience his music live, but then i didn't want to get the cheapest ticket which was seating and on the second floor. it worked out well though because i managed to get a good spot and had more freedom to dance along in the standing zone.
- i feel bad for us pushing him to do so many encores though when he was quite sick T_____T i hope he's able to rest well and recover quickly. thank you for giving the very best you could as you promised in the beginning of the show i will never forget this experience ever ♡
